GráficaGroup TV Spot About Insurance Fraud Wins Creativity Award
Chester, New Jersey (November 22, 2004) Creativity, an Advertising Age magazine devoted to creative excellence, honored a TV campaign created by GráficaGroup with the Creativity 34 Award of Distinction. The winning, 30-second spot, "Word's Spreading," was created by Gráfica, based in Chester, and produced by Tribe Pictures, based in Chatham, and was developed for the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General to support its highly successful anti-insurance-fraud campaign.
In "Word's Spreading," a montage of insurance-fraud professionals ranging from judge to prosecutor to investigator talk tough about the positive results and harsh penalties behind New Jersey's anti-insurance-fraud effort. The spot closes with a "white collar" insurance-fraud criminal in an orange prison uniform locked behind bars. "Serious jail time," he says with anger and regret, as a voiceover from Attorney General Peter Harvey states, "New Jersey is stopping insurance fraud. You can help. Call 1-877-55-FRAUD."
- The anti-insurance-fraud effort in New Jersey has had many positive results, including:
- Number-one fraud-prosecution office in the nation (According to the Coalition Against Insurace Fraud).
- 40 prosecutors.
- 200 investigators.
- 300 indictments last year alone.
- Tough, new insurance laws.
- Auto-insurance rates down.
- Prosecutions up 50 percent.
"Our hope with the campaign was to 'spread the word' that we are aggressively pursuing insurance-fraud criminals in New Jersey," said Paul Loriquet, Director of Communications, New Jersey Office of the Attorney General. "This award proves that our message is being conveyed loud and clearly, which is a testament to the creative and strategic advertising professionals at Gráfica, as well as Tribe."
"It's an honor working for the Office of the Attorney General in its fight to reduce insurance fraud in New Jersey, but earning a Creativity Award on top of it makes the effort even more gratifying," said Debra Taeschler, President and CEO of GráficaGroup. "We are truly happy to help improve the quality of life in the state by communicating the seriousness of insurance fraud and portraying the strong investigative and criminal prosecution team combating it."
The Creativity Awards are given annually to national and global advertising and design agencies. More than 7,500 pieces were submitted this year from over 30 countries.
